How has your race/ethnicity informed your experience with living with HIV?

Marcus's Answer

This is a good question.  Since I have been positive I have  been looking back at my  community and realising that getting the message out is getting harder, and mental health issues are getting younger while non-traditional methods are taking form.

Today was my first time looking at myself in public on a big poster. As I walked past it and glanced, I asked myself,  “who is that GQ guy?” And and it was me. I looked around me to see is there were any other good positive images on this street –  the answer is no. More positive images should be out there empowering the Black community in building self-esteem and making talking about sex normal, and talking about HIV and other STDs should be normalized.
