How has your race/ethnicity informed your experience with living with HIV?

Tyrone's Answer

I don’t think that my race has had any direct impact on me thus far living with HIV. I  know that my race is one of the top demographics that are contracting HIV. I think the fact that I’m a gay man has had an impact moreso… because HIV has no face, it has no prejudices against anyone. I would say that the LGBTQ population has had an impact because we are the ones on the front line fighting for everyone regardless of race, creed, or color… As a gay man I’m able to access services that by me just being a black man might not be readily available.. This is a tough question but me personally I can’t think of a situation where my race played a role whether negative or positive while living with HIV.
