What do you feel about smoking as it relates to HIV treatment and living with HIV?

Christopher's Answer

I am a smoker. I smoke because of a long history of depression and general anxiety. Smoking is definitely going to negatively impact my life, even more so now with HIV. My chances of developing heart disease are almost 100%, even after knowing that smoking and and using tobacco is still a hobby of mine. I like the occasional cigar, I smoke tobacco from a pipe, and I roll my own cigarettes using organic and all natural tobacco. The only reason why I specify this is because even though I know full and well that giving up tobacco products will prolong my life greatly, I’m just not in a place in my life yet where quitting is feasible. Yes, having HIV and being a smoker is not a good combination, and I will quit someday.
