What do you feel about smoking as it relates to HIV treatment and living with HIV?

Tyrone's Answer

I know that because I am living with HIV I shouldn’t be smoking, but it’s one of the last guilty pleasures that I have despite knowing that tobacco is the leading cause of preventable illness and death in the United States. I have an increased chance of developing lung cancer and other cancers, heart disease, COPD, asthma, etc., yet I continue to smoke. I think that trying to quit has been one of the most difficult things that I’ve attempted to do… It’s more of a habit now than actually wanting the cigarette itself. My personal feelings are to each his own. As long as each individual knows the consequences when he or she smokes than we are responsible for the after effect.
